Jerry finn producaiton

Well ive been looking in to Jerry Finn and have found some techniques from vintagemicrophone.com and from here he desscuses how he would use a ribbon and condenser microphones for guitar amplifiers, having the ribbon off axsis on the left and the condenser on the oppersite. he goes on to say he'l add Fx then print the guitars to tape.

now I dont have a ribbon microphone or tape, but have used a condeser (SE 3300a) and re-recorded my guitar parts.

I have now finished my song structure and have spent some time mixing the song together. I have used the song Sadie form alkaline trio which has helped me influence the song I have remixed, heres a video of Sadie by Alkaline Trio and produced by Jerry Finn.

even though I have been using Alkaline Trio to help me come up with a remix, its come to me thats the producer of the Crimson album is a guy called Jerry Finn,

Once I saw the name I remebered that he also produced other bands I liked, like Blink 182, and Rancid and Green day so Ive decided to change form Matt skat to Jerry Finn as he is a producer and can help me out alot further with my production on my guitars and bass for my track.

Drums

Been working on the guitar parts for my song and now im sampling my drums

at the moment im trying to copy the styles of Derek Grant (drummer of Alkaline Trio), im using the song 'Sadie' and 'Over & out', idealy i would have recored the drums but im stuck with time but im going to be trying my best making the drums sound as real as possiable.

Well been working with Tom who is a great musicain to help me with the guitar i wanted to replace,

decided to pretty much keep the vocals and some of the drums. I've record the guitars and bass and im very pleased on how its sounding, and ive tryed to get them similar sounding to alkaline tro sort of Punk rock

just going to be a struggle to do the drums but can it sorted.

my orignal producer/ artist was Matt Skiba from Alkaline Trio, he the founding member of Alkaline Trio and has written, produced solo tracks and albums.

Im going to remix 'Be Free' and use Matt skiba style of guitar palying, song writting to change htis track, at the top of my had im thinking of laying down some guitar riffs and stripping down the verse to just bass, a padded synth, and vocals

anyway this is jsut the start I'l soon come up with a detailed plan of how to re-record parts of 'Be Free'
