Well ive been looking in to Jerry Finn and have found some techniques from vintagemicrophone.com and from here he desscuses how he would use a ribbon and condenser microphones for guitar amplifiers, having the ribbon off axsis on the left and the condenser on the oppersite. he goes on to say he'l add Fx then print the guitars to tape.
now I dont have a ribbon microphone or tape, but have used a condeser (SE 3300a) and re-recorded my guitar parts.
I have now finished my song structure and have spent some time mixing the song together. I have used the song Sadie form alkaline trio which has helped me influence the song I have remixed, heres a video of Sadie by Alkaline Trio and produced by Jerry Finn.
